Export presets
An export preset decides which sections a stakeholder export contains. The built-in presets are free; saving your own custom presets is a Pro feature.
What it does
A stakeholder export can include several sections — cover, executive summary, horizon overview, timeline, workstreams, risks and blockers, dependencies and decisions, change report, appendix. An export preset is a named on/off configuration of those sections.
Roadmap Flow ships four built-in presets — Executive, Engineering, Sales, and Internal — and every plan can use them. Pro users can also save custom presets with their own section toggles.
When to use it
- Before any stakeholder export, to match the content to the audience.
- When you regularly export for the same audience and want it consistent (Pro custom preset).
When not to use it
- When a built-in preset already fits. Do not build a custom preset that is a built-in with one toggle flipped you did not need.
3-minute flow
- Open the Share tab.
- Open the export preset selector above the stakeholder exports.
- Pick the built-in preset closest to your audience.
- If you have Pro and need a different mix, toggle sections and save it as a named preset.
- Run the export — it uses the selected preset.
Best use cases
- Executive preset for a leadership review.
- Engineering preset for a detailed working session.
- A saved custom preset for a recurring report (Pro).
Common mistakes
- Exporting on whatever preset was selected last, for the wrong audience.
- Building custom presets before you know what your recurring exports actually need.
