Roadmap Flow Check is a free Chrome and Edge extension that turns planning content you already have open (a Jira board, a Confluence page, a Notion doc, a Slack thread, an Azure DevOps backlog) into a checked, import-ready start for your roadmap. It runs entirely on your machine and never uploads what it reads.

Capture, check, import
Three steps between a planning doc and a roadmap you can present. Nothing is read until you ask for it.
1. Capture what you choose
Click the extension and pick an action. It reads nothing before that.

2. Get an honest readiness score
It extracts candidate initiatives and grades the capture from 0–100: Strong (80+), Partial (50–79), or Weak (under 50).

- Unresolved decisions and dependencies
- Reports gaps only, never invents content
3. Bring it into Roadmap Flow
Export a package, then pick exactly which candidates become roadmap items.

Why it helps
Roadmap items rarely start life in a roadmap tool. They start in a strategy doc, a backlog, or a thread. Capture them there instead of retyping them later.
The readiness score tells you what a stakeholder will ask about (missing owner, no target, an unresolved decision) while you can still go and find the answer.
Notion, Confluence, Slack, and Google Docs have no direct import path into Roadmap Flow. A capture works on any of them.
Every imported item keeps its source link and capture notes, so you can always answer "where did this come from?"
Capturing, scoring, and exporting all run locally. There is no account, no sign-in, and no upload of anything it reads.
What it is not
It is a one-time capture, not a connection.
There is no sync, no write-back to the source tool, no API integration, no cloud processing, and no AI writing your roadmap for you. Import it once, then the roadmap is yours.
It is not a backlog migration tool.
Capture a focused selection, not a whole backlog page. It deliberately warns you when one capture exceeds 25 candidates. For a structured bulk import with column mapping, use Share → Import CSV from Jira or Azure DevOps in the desktop app (Team).
The score grades the capture, not your strategy.
A Weak score means the notes are missing information a roadmap needs, not that the plan is bad.
How to use it
About three minutes from a planning page to roadmap items.
In your browser
- Install Roadmap Flow Check from the Chrome Web Store and pin it to your toolbar. In Edge, open the same listing and allow extensions from other stores when prompted.
- Open the planning page you want to capture from.
- Select the text you care about. A focused selection gives a cleaner result than scanning the whole page.
- Click the extension and choose Check selected text.
- Read the readiness score and the gaps it lists.
- Click Export to Roadmap Flow to download the
.roadmapflow-check.jsonpackage.
In Roadmap Flow desktop
- Open Share → Import a checked companion package.
- Pick the downloaded package. A preview appears before anything changes.
- Tick the candidates you actually want.
- Choose the destination roadmap, workstream, and owner team.
- Append. Your existing items are untouched, and each new item keeps its source link.
