Share — exports and transfer
The Share tab is how a roadmap leaves Roadmap Flow — as a stakeholder-ready file, as a package for another Roadmap Flow user, or as a backup.
What it does
Share is organized into stakeholder exports, an export preset selector, roadmap transfer, workspace backup, and raw data. It offers nine formats.
Stakeholder exports — generated from a clean presentation model, not screenshots:
- PowerPoint — an editable meeting deck.
- PDF — a fixed report. Use PDF when people should read, not redesign.
- One-page executive PDF — a single-page leadership summary (Pro).
- PNG package — page images for chat and email.
- Figma-ready SVG frames — fixed frames for design collaboration.
Raw data:
- Markdown — for docs and email.
- CSV — for spreadsheet review. Use CSV when someone says, "Can I just see the data?"
Transfer and backup:
- Roadmap package JSON — one roadmap, to move into another Roadmap Flow workspace.
- Full workspace backup JSON — a complete copy of everything.
When to use it
- When you need a file for a meeting, a report, or a doc.
- When you are handing a roadmap to another Roadmap Flow user (roadmap package).
- When you want a complete safety copy (workspace backup).
When not to use it
- To change only what is on screen — that is the canvas, not Share.
- To "save" your work. Roadmap Flow saves automatically; exports are copies, not the source of truth.
3-minute flow
- Open the Share tab.
- Pick an export preset to control which sections appear.
- Choose a format that matches the audience — see the format notes above.
- Export. On the desktop the file lands in your workspace
exportsfolder with a Show in folder action. - For transfer, use the roadmap package; for safety, use the workspace backup.
Best use cases
- A PowerPoint deck for a roadmap review.
- A one-page PDF for a leadership skim.
- A roadmap package to move one roadmap to a colleague.
- A workspace backup before a big change.
Common mistakes
- Confusing the two JSON files: the roadmap package is one roadmap; the workspace backup is everything. They are not interchangeable.
- Exporting with filters still applied and shipping a roadmap missing items.
- Sending a PowerPoint when a PDF was the point — an editable deck invites edits.
